Karen Tye Bentley

After leaving university where she specialised in industrial ceramics Karen Tye Bentley worked for a multinational ceramic company as Designer then Design Manager for seventeen years. When her first daughter came along she took the opportunity to create a better work life balance and set up at home to work on a freelance basis.

Karen is a successful designer concentrating mainly on the Greetings market whilst having the freedom to design for different products and companies worldwide. She enjoys working to customer specific briefs, but relishes the times when she can work on speculative designs and have a play with new ideas. In 2020 she illustrated her first children’s picture book A Tale For A Sleepy Bunny.

She lives in Newcastle Under Lyme with her husband, two grumpy teenage daughters and her constant companion Charlie, a black labrador who she uses as an excuse to escape for regular walks.
